STARSkate

This class offers opportunities for skaters to develop figure skating in the areas of ice dance, free skate, skating skills, and interpretive skating.
PreSTARSkate is the intermediary class between CanSkate and STARSkate. Skaters in CanSkate Level 5 may pursue this option to transition into STARSkate.
CanSkate
Learn-to-skate
The Athabasca Skating Club adheres to Skate Canada's CanSkate program. We combine ready-made circuits with our own themes and Fun Zones Each group stays at a station for 10-12 minutes.
PreCanSkate is an introductory class for pre-schoolers.
PowerSkate
Power up your game.
If you’re looking to take your skating game to the next level with a high-energy program designed specifically for hockey and ringette players, PowerSkate is for you.
Focused on enhancing key skills like balance, control, agility, power, and speed, PowerSkate features progressive drills taught by NCCP-certified Skate Canada coaches to sharpen your skating in real-game situations.
Join the ranks of NHL greats like Nathan MacKinnon, Matt Duchene, Mark Scheifele, and Jeff Skinner, who have trusted our training to reach new heights in their careers.
PowerSkate welcomes skaters of all ages with a minimum of Stage 4 CanSkate experience, including adaptive and sledge hockey skaters. Participants must have hockey skates, gloves, a stick, and helmet. Full equipment is optional.
Teen & Adult Skate
We’re also excited to introduce our new Teen & Adult Skate, running Mondays from 5:45 - 6:45.
It's perfect for teenagers and adults who are brand new to skating, want to brush up on old skills, or just want a fun reason to get out of the house and onto the ice.
We spend a lot of months surrounded by ice and snow here in northern Alberta — we might as well know how to enjoy it! Learning to skate opens the door to outdoor rinks, skating with friends and family, and enjoying those beautiful Alberta winter days.
